routine maintenance

alright, I just looked through the facts and archives, and haven't seen any posts on routine maitenance. I just bought my first rx7 and it did not come with an owners manual, so I thought I might as well ask what do you guys do for routine maintenance on your rx7 and when!? I also tried search and didn't find any great posts so I thought I might as well make one. Add all your tips for maintaining your rx7. Maybe we can even sticky this :O

About twice a week I check:
Oil level
Coolant Overflow Tank for water
Tire Pressure
Look on driveway for any leaks

Once every three months I:
Change Oil and Filter
Check fuel filter
Blow out debris from air filter
Check belts for tension/wear
Check brake pad wear
Change Engine Oil

Once a year I:
Change belts if needed
Change coolant
New fuel filter
New Rearend oil
New Transmission oil

I hope I did not forget anything, other than car washes

Here is a link that will shed some light on the subject.

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-gen-archive-71/other-what-look-when-buying-just-after-you-purchased-your-rx-7-a-601804/

Also you can download a copy of the FSM (Factory service manual) by going to member trochoid profile.

Maintenance schedules also vary on many different factors.

Type of climate that you are in.
Heavy dust areas. Smog polluted areas. Argricultural areas, etc....
Type of driving that you do. Mainly freeway, mainly stop and go, combination of both. Only short trips, etc....

What type of oil, anti freeze you are using. Synthetic versus regular oil. Standard anti-freeze versus long life, etc...

Jeezus has covered some of the basics but you have to taylor your maintenance to the above criteria.

Jeezus has an excellent list going their. But the coolant/cooling system should not be over looked. Flush your coolant every couple of years and put some new antifreeze in.

Also strongly consider getting all new coolant hoses. Having a hose go when your driving is the easiest way to blow one of these engines...
