Here ----> http://maz_tutorials.ten15.net/

Then click on "removing the rats nest". Also, get the printable version and donate some money (not a quarter ) They do an AMAZING job with those tutorials, so a little funding is always nice im sure.

As far as pro's and con's go, i hear that there isnt any downfalls (unless you live in Cali and get caught....) but that there is a horsepower improvement.

just a quick note, be very thorough when closing up all the vacuum stuff because a small leak will give a big head ache for a while, I am actually having to redo my intake manifold because I didn't do the block-off plate right.

you can modify the 79 rats nest to become emissionless, although being in california, emissions controls do affect you. it's model year 75 and later that need biennial smogs.

I've heard both sides. Some people say that they noticed a gain in horsepower, while others say that it made no difference. Nontheless, it does these 2 things for sure: cleaner look to the engine and loses weight

If you are looking into doing cheap upgrades, check out the ICAI (insulated cold air intake) tutorial on the same page that i mentioned in my last post. Also, make sure to check out the Upgrading A Stock RX7 Thread

This is a good question that should be answered, try re-posting with the title "79-80 emissions removal" and maybe we can get some rx7carl help.
