This really stinks
So I pull up to my friends house and theres steam coming from the hood. I whip out a flash light and there is coolant dripping from around the intake manifold. Would a new gasket and o-rings solve my issues. Car is 85 gsl-se

sounds like you need new intake manifold o-rings and gaskets, no big deal, get the parts at www.mazdatrix.com or try a local mazda dealership

I agree with Gregs. And you can probably get the gasket and o-rings from a local parts store too. I think I got one from Advanced Auto here. Victoria British also has them.
Make sure you throughly remove the old gasket before putting the new one on. Doing it again is not fun. And you can help hold the o-rings in place as you put the gasket and manifold on by using a dab of hylomar.

The GSL-SE doesn't use o'rings between the lower intake and engine. (as long as it's still the 13b engine)
May want to inspect the coolant hoses that run to the throttle body for the fast idle cam mechanism. The front hose lays between the T/Body and upper manifold. The rear hose is much shorter and runs from the top rear of the engine housing up to the fast idle cam. If you have access to a radiator/coolant leak tester, pressurize the system and see if you can tell where it's coming from.
