My friends who drive behind me in their cars always tell me my car stinks like gas or emmissions or something like that. They just say it has kinda a bad odor. Sometimes I can smell it when I'm stopped. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Maybe I'm running too rich? or maybe its just my exhaust system (just got a new cat about 6 months ago, with stock pre-cats and RB catback)? Anyone know?

 

Mine smells AWFUL... and there's a bunch of black stuff around the exhaust too. I think I'm either running really rich or really lean. Wish i had money to invest in gauges, like I know people are gonna suggest, but I actually can't afford them and the car's a daily driver, so I'll just keep on keeping on I guess and hope the rich/lean condition doesn't kill the engine before I get an internship

 

I know a T2 I was in would get exhaust if you stopped too fast that would seep in the window or hatch seals or something. Weird

 

I have a small exhaust leak being my cat. My precats are gutted and my cat is a high-flow unit. It likes to seep into my car sometimes. It stinks.

 

hah i think all rotorys have there powerful smell to them. i know mine does
