Does your rx7,........"smell?"
We all know the rx7 isn't the cleanist engine on the market as far a emmissions go. I had mine for about three years now and have had all kinds of different things done to it. At its present state, this is the way its been since about feburary 2001. Since about a month ago, if I have the engine running and get something out of the trunk, I carry a stench of exhuast fums with me for about thrity minutes. The car does not run any different that I can tell since feburary. Thats why I ask if you car stinks, and if not what could make it stink. There is not smoke comming out the back either. Any feed back would be cool. I was thinking the o2 sensor since it hasn't been replace in about 50,000 miles

Your O2 sensor is prob not the reason for the smelly but it needs replacing anyway - BOSCH recomends replacement at 25k mile intervals
Your lack of an air pump means your cat is probablly clogged and non functional Cats NEED the extra air from the airpump to function properly

with no cats you expect it to smell good???
i ran with no cats, love the smell of un burnt rotary exhaust..yes rotaries smell diff then piston engine, we have the slight oily smell in it, this with all the extra hydrocarbons(the stuff that makes your eyes water and burn) is part of a rotary..
when i would be arround my car with it running, or after i pulled it in the garrage, i would smell similar to after i had mowed the lawn, but not with a grassy smell just the gas/2 cycle oil smell
invest in febreez, and carry a extra shirt with u @ all times..and a bottle of your fav colonge in the glove box always gets u outa a jamb
