As a side note, I really hate the 30, 85, 86, 87, and 87a designations for relay contacts. Give me one good explanation on what they mean and how they're better than: C1, C2, CM, NO and NC...
What kinda idiot thought it up, and where can I find him so that I can kick him in the nuts.

Just for reference, all 12A engines are 1.1 liter. The 13B is a 1.3 liter.
As for wiring, if yours is so far gone it needs rewiring, get a used factory harness. The other option would be to get the factory wiring diagrams here: Foxed.ca
If you want to learn, dig into the wiring diagrams. If you want plug-and-play, buy good used harness. There are no aftermarket choices for the factory setup. If it's not factory, we would need to know the specs (pictures would help).

Bad ignition switch and it's NLA
Hey,
I am going to attempt to install a push start button to trigger my starter. Due to 81-83 ignition switches being out of stock and NLA.
In the reply/ write up V8kilr posted. He mentioned to run one wire from the push start button to the ignition wire #2 (smaller black and yellow wire).
By that does he mean to splice the wire coming from the button into the ignition wire #2? Or to cut the ignition wire #2 and then connect the wire coming from the button to the end that is going toward the harness not the switch?
Also for pin #30 on the relay. Would I splice into the red and white wire? Or cut it and connect the wire from the relay to the end that is going toward the harness?
Thanks for any input
