premix question....

CA premix question....

if i go premix and do not install the OMP,
do i need to block off the OMP mounting area on the "block"

Yes or enjoy the oil fountain. Use Red RTV with a block off plate & gasket, it's for high pressure application.

No, you're not mixing THAT MUCH into the tank.

No and it'll run a little quieter too. Prolly last longer.

I presume the oil fountain is generated purel b engine oil pressure? From a now open hole that fed the omp....

block it off pre-mix and you will be fine..

Who sells the block off plate? I looked in the RB catalog and did not see anything.

mazdatrix has the blockoff plates. not hard to make though.
i think mazda trix sells them for like $4.00

I need to look but for some reason my 84 autocross car still appears to have the OMP but there is no lines going to the carb and no throttle lever going to the OMP. I run premix.

The PO must have McGyvered something to the OMP to stop its use or to block it off somehow.

if the OMP arm is clocked to the lowest setting you can just loop the 2 nipples with about 3in of hose and clamps. I ran my first 12a for about 30k miles like this with nary a drop of leaked oil.

how do you change high flow/low flow on the OMP(mine is the old 2 outlet style)?
