When and in what models did power steering come in??

Particularly does my 82 have power steering?

oh ok sorry i didnt se the gsl but that still doesnt directly anwser my question asking if power steering was an option in 82?

 

I have an `84 GS and it does NOT have power steering. As far as i know all of the 1st gens didnt have Power Steering with the exception of the `84-`85 GSL and GSL-SE. Hope that helps, BTW if you still want to know with out a doubt, just pop your hood and spend hours looking for a Power Steering Pump

 

If you do have power steering there'll be a pump under the hood as well as a big resivoir that says "power steering fluid", plus you'll be able to turn your wheel really easily even at low speed....

 

How hard can it be?

'84-85 GSL and GSL-SE had optional power steering.

If your car is NOT an '84-85 GSL or GSL-SE, there is no chance that if came from the factory with power steering.
