That's 2005 SCCA CenDiv ITS Champ Chris Ludwig, of Ludwig Motorsports sanity checking my work. He did the porting and block assembly for me, and is handling most of the tuning.

Put it together where it sits, man! I did some of my best work on this car in my driveway.

Exactly. I'm not gonna say my build was flawless. Chris identified a couple mistakes on my part, and we resolved them before they became catastrophic.

That was my bed, a year or so ago. I ended up using all those panels on the car.

Holy hell... I <3 Bridge-Ports!

Got it under boost the past couple of days. Ludwig got me a good base off-boost tune, some conservative timing, and AFRs that simply read as "rich" when you get above 5psi.

It's utterly ridiculous! There is no lag. NONE! You put your foot down and the power comes on immediately. When we started I had to be talked into a 1.0 A/R, now I'm thinking we might as well have used a 1.15. The power is completely untractable in 1st and 2nd gear, and even in 5th gear the car takes off like a shot if you give it any more than 1/4 throttle.

The best part about this, I'm only seeing 10 PSI! I swapped out the stock 1 bar spring in the wastegate fearing it would be too much, and don't plan to put it back until I get the methanol kit installed. Completely untuned, and running only 10 PSI and it's already a ton faster than my old S4/t04 setup.

Dyno time next weekend, possibly some 1/8th mile times and a few passes on the autocross course at Godman Airfield too. I'll take some video if I can.

So far, I'm very satisfied with the bridge-port. The idle is liveable, low-speed performance is no worse than my last SP, and the spool characteristics are incredible.

More soon.

Datalog of Duck's car with RPM, MAP, and TPS. I'm very curious to see if the response stays so linear and quick once we up the boost pressure. Right now with just the 10 psi spring it spools like a stocker.

Guess I left out the real info. It's opening the 10 psi gate at about 3500 rpm when matted from a 2200 rpm role.

I'm very pleased with the spool. We'll likely hit 1 bar below 4000 rpm. This characteristic is for all intents identical to the last motor/turbo combo in this car. (SP'ed S4 TII 13b .81 A/R T04 with 35r wheel) ...The notable difference being likely more than +100whp.

I can't wait to autocross it!

There's some boost creep, a little over 1psi. Wastegate is a 44mm TiAL with a dump tube. The restriction is likely the HKS manifold.

Sounds great Duck!

I think the creep will disipate when you start running more boost. Only 10psi is alot of air for that 44mmTial to choke off, considering your turbo and porting.

Good luck, looking forward to more pics and vids.

I'll be join'in ya one day. Soon to be ditching the supercharger for a BB turbo and standalone when funds permit now that I have the engine for it. Not this year though, probably not next either. But, I'll start accumulating parts along the way. http://media.putfile.com/BRIDGPORTED-13B-COMPILATION

So I hear first time out this thing laid down a 7.27 @ 95 in the 1/8th running off the 10 psi wastegate spring the other night. Any truth to that?

Since it's no longer in the build stage, I'm moving on...

I created another thread with track times, dyno numbers, and video!
