The rear-end was assembled by a local speed shop, not Grannies.

add me to your list of admirers. can't wait to see it run!!!

i have kind of a weird request. could you take a shot of the ignition side of the motor, particularly the top of the front side housing?

also, just curious as to what your turbine housing spec is ...

I'll take a snapshot when I get the chance to hammer on it again in the next couple of days. Some SNAFU with Mazdaspeed has me stuck without intake gaskets, and a bunch of other stuff for the weekend so I'm just going to have to assemble what I have for now and save the rest of the work for next week.

/Using a 1.0 A/R tangental/divided exhaust housing.

What tires are you going to be using for traction keeping purposes? Also, what are you going to be using the car for?

My Mazdacomp order is AWOL, my block-off plates and injectors haven't arrived, and I've been moving and unpacking with a bad case of Strep throat... (How's that for some Matt Coleman style excuses?)

Ludwig found my crossmember yesterday, and I was all hyped to drop it in tonight... But then the Boss called and said i had to go to dinner with her family after work. (0wn3d)

Seriously, this weekend is looking real good for an install. Hopefully I'll find some time Thursday to finish the chassis/underhood cleanup so that I'm G2G for all things mechanical on Friday and Saturday. To hell with the Derby, let's hammer!

For the street, I'll be fitting a pair of 245/50/16 ZR tires on the rear and likely some 205 series tires up front. I'll either use some stock TII wheels, or my old Konig wheels.

For drag racing I have a pair of Mickey Thompson 10" slicks, mounted on some lightweight BBS wheels. No clue what I'm likely to run up front yet.

For Autocross, I have a full set of 225 series Hoosier S05s with at least 2 races left in them.

The car is built primarily for drag racing, but since the Import series I was building it for no longer exists I'm just kind of assembling it with shaming Z06s and blown-Cobras in mind.

I will continue to Autocross the car, although I don't expect it to be competitive... Just fun.

PS... those 245's aren't going to hold well... thats what i'm using and I still blow them of when I punch it.

HKS divided manifold for REW. I was impressed with the FC HKS manifold on the last motor, and decided to give them another shot this time around. I really hope the wastegate clears the steering parts... It was a close on the FC log.

Pretty motor, in an ugly car.

Notice how close the wastegate is to the scattershield. Took lots of work to get clearance.

The setup looks good. You should have no problem making 500whp with proper tuning. Nice rear and brakes.

I noticed you are using the cast manifold. My friend used this with a similar setup and had a real close fit with the turbo and shock tower. He was using a T04B, which is obviously much smaller then yours. Have you tested for fitment yet?

Good luck.

The FC style manifold I used last time was much closer to the shock tower. This time, using the FD style manifold it's much closer to the motor and sits farther back. No clearance issue at all.

Freakin' sweet. I want one.

You say this is an REW? So you took a 3rd gen engine, put an -SE front cover and CAS in and mounted it that way?

What all did you do to get this thing from it's original state to where it is now? I *so* wanna hear the story, I've got a friend who'd love to do this to his!

Jon
