performance air intake

Does anyone know of a place where I can buy a performance intake for my GSL-SE? Don't say Rotary Performance because I place an order with them in December and never got my intake. Then I called them 6 times and each time the secretary said that the owner doesn't want to make time to assemble the intakes. Two other FB owners are waiting as well. I say false advertising myself and am probably going to report them to the Better Business Bureau.
Anyway, apart from my bitching, anyone know of any other place?
Jeff

Just throw a drop in K&N air filter in the factory box. The factory box serves as a cold air intake anyway (the one that goes half way in front of the rad). I tried the cone thing, no difference in performance or sound.

That's funny, the cone filter made the largest boost in performance of anything I"ve done to mine.

You can pick up an AFM adapter for an S4 RX-7, it's the same as the GSL-SE, and throw on a K&N 3" filter on it. If you want to do it right, build a cold air box for it so it won't suck in hot engine air. To be honest, I haven't done that yet.

When I originally did it, the adapter came with a "Bomz" cone filter, and it did nothing. A little later, I put in a RB cat replacement pipe, and it added a little power. Later, I finally got around to getting a K&N cone to replace the Bomz and HOLY **** it made a difference. Of course, with the regular cats on it the difference isn't nearly as much.

So you're saying that any cone K&N filter will work? How do I make sure the circumference is the same as the pipe? I know a cone filter will make a huge difference, but I don't want to have to do all kinds of cutting and adjustments. Has anyone actually done this before?

Should be as simple as the adaptor. IIRC they bolt onto the AFM and have a pipe to clamp a cone filter onto.

Like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/86-92...QQcmdZViewItem

Try and get one sans filter, and put a high quality K&N on it, you're good to go.

Yep, that's right. All you need to do is remove the stock airbox, connect the S4 MAF adapter (4 little bolts) and slip a K&N cone filter with a 3" opening onto it.

Oh, I almost forgot, if you do that you'll need to get a little breather filter for the hose that goes to the smog pump. You can pick those up at Advance Auto for a few bucks.

Just remember, your results may vary. The gains I got from adding the K&N does not seem to be typical. BTW I put down 125 rwhp with a cone filter and a cat replacement pipe. I'm pretty sure the engine is stock.

John did a good write up here on a K&N cone filter install. He aslo lists the adaptor he purchased at autozone. If you do this make sure you post some pics, because I'm interested in this mod.
