Paging all you Nikki carb gods

Fixing a accelerator pump ‘cause car dies when accelerator blipped. I think the ball bearing is stuck? If I blow air in this hole in the pump it should come out this hole? Pretty sure I see the bearing in there, and all that came out was the weight. Any tricks for getting that out? Spraying with WD40 and hitting it with the air gun but no luck so far.

Never mind. Picked away at it with a sewing needle and managed to get enough crud to get the ball loose.

When I rebuilt my stock nikki I did the full emissions strip and mechanical secondary mod, and I made extra gaskets to increase the volume of fuel being pumped in (I had a new RB full exhaust too). This doesn't apply to you since you have emissions inspection, but I don't remember any issues with the weights and *****. Just take pics of everything as you go.

PS - I just wanted to post these pics I took 4 years ago.

The ***** were just stuck in there. Kept at it with carb cleaner and a needle and eventually got ‘em loose and out.

and.... as expected already broke something. Need to replace one of the 160 jets that screws into the inside of the float chamber. Got a little heavy handed with the screwdriver. Where would I source such a thing? A search here seems to indicate these are commonly available as plenty of people taking about trying different sizes. I will be staying stock, but want to be sure I am ordering the correct specs of thread etc.

I think I recently saw Rotary Response in Tuscon they might have some Nikki carb parts. Soak the carb in parts cleaner like Berryman chem dip. https://rotaryresponse.com/Rotary%20VMRP.htm

That the correct one? Looks more like the jets that sit in top of the carb rather than the ones that sit inside the float chamber. On MazdaMatrix I see a SKU for the 160 jet as 73801.160 and a Google image of that SKU shows a different shape
to the one I have. Pics with black background are the broken jet I have. Pic with white background is a Google search for the SKU MazdaMatrix provides.

Doe the ball bearing in your picture come out or is it supposed to move?

do you mean the bearing you can see in the accelerator pump, or the one that was hidden in the hole I am pointing at that has the brass weight above it? If memory serves me right the one you can see in the accelerator pump did not move.

I think the beating you see in the accelerator pump chamber is fixed in place. Anyone with more experience than me second that opinion?

no its permanent. It was to drill a passage. There is a few around the carb, off the top of my head there is one next to the fuel inlet banjo bolts each side. Just to block off the hole made.
