no distributer???
i was looking under the hood of a fc and it had no distributer...i've already grabbed two leading coils from a fc for a home made direct fire and i was wondering would it be a good idea to grab the trailing coil also or just use the leading side of my distributer and keep the distributer attached???

I am not reading you. FCs have ONE leading coil (couble ended) and TWO trailing coils (single ended). The leading plugs fire in waste-spark, which is hwy they have a single double-ended coil, and the trailing plugs fire independently, which is why they have two individual single-ended coils.

The thing is, if you want to use those trailing coils on the trailing plugs, you need to figure out a way to alternate the signal coming from the distributor
The FC only uses the crank angle sensor to know where the E-shaft is... the computer controls when the coils fire. (As opposed to the dizzy setup, where the pickus control when the coils fire)

Driven a turbo FB lately?

The problem with doing FC coil and cas in a FB is the fact that the CAS tells the ECU when to fire the coils, you will need an ECU to relate the signals to the coil packs, its not a simple run wire to the coil packs type of thing. I asked mazdatrix once and he said dont try it, you will spend your remaining days in a padded cell. Besides why not just do a direct fire setup with a dizzy its cheaper and easier, or do a MSD box

Yeah, I'm using the FC leading coil which was actually recommended over the blaster coils by Paul Yaw. I think he did some testing and said that the FC coil was just as hot or hotter than two blaster coils. Plus it's cheaper. Anyway, I'm using it with the MSD 6A and it rules! Especially with the side fire plugs that are also recommended on paul's site. I hope it works out. If you can't find the info directly on paul's site, put "/ignition.html" (without the quotes) after the original URL. Have fun!
