In need of a distributer.
My understanding the '84-'85 GSL-SE distributor has a different power curve setup, via the centrifical advance.
Sorry no spare unit, may have a line on a parts car, cause I could use a fuel pump.

The distributors are the same for all cars 81 to 85.
I just sold my spare distributor recently to an employee at Dave Turner Motorsports and gave away my extra SE fuel pump to neighborhood buddy Mark Perez..Mark you better get that car running!

The physical aspects maybe the same but the are not exactly the same. Mazda has a 12a part number and a 13b part number listed.
12a: N249-18-200A
13b: N304-18-200B
Like I said, the power curve of these 2 motors are different, so would the vacuum/centrifical advances needs.

What about an S5 distributer? i plan on buying a whole s5 parts car from a junkyard eventually, i will be taking the rotors, intake manifold, tranny, and whatever else i will need, then part out the rest on 7 club.
woa, an s5 doesnt have a distrubitor. FC's use direct fire igntion with a crank angle sensor in its place of the distruibitor.
However the european FC's did come with a distributor, but your never gonna find one of those that easily.

Since its an S5, I doubt it. The s5's use an electric OMP and the ECU will go into limp mode if it does not detect it. If you found an after market ignition controller like a MSD, it would work though. An s4 setup will work also.

no
Use everything, I mean EVERYTHING from the SE car, except the shortblock from the S5. Nothing but the shortblock.
You do have to swap your SE front cover, OMP, and Oil pan to the new engine though.

I'm completely broke right now, i have to spend atleast 3 grand on my car in the next few months. If you want to let it go for next to nothing, i'm of course interested.
