MR2 E-fan wiring question

I know this is somewhat random, but I went to a U-Pull today and picked up an electric radiator fan setup from a Mk. I Toyota MR2. I saw Kentetsu's thread (https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...light=MR2+fans) where he said he wire them up to a switch in the cabin. I'm not an electrician by any stretch of the imagination, so could you guys help me out and throw around some ideas of how to wire that kind of thing up?

I used an adjustable fan controller. It was about 18 bucks from Autozone.

I used 2 relays to enable the fans off of a hot switched
circuit ( might have been off of the coils I think). This way
they ran full time. The relays get power directly off of
the hot lead on the largest fusible link and the coil
connection switches the relay to allow power to
flow to the fans. Its pretty standard electric fan
wiring except you have to double it all because
there's 2 fans.

I then wired the ground through the tranny sensors for
the 4th and 5th gear sensors so when I'm in 4th or 5th
gear they turn off. I posted this up somewhere, let
me know if need help on it.

Heres a pic of my setup:

And the FSM pages that describe the tranny sensors and the connector I used:

thanks for all the info. One more question, though. Did you guys have to shave off any metal from the shrouds to clear the radiator hoses? I can't seem to get mine to fit on there.

Kentetsu: I just got the adjustable fan controller from autozone. did you cut the wires from the fan and splice them onto the wires to the controller? and if so, where? I ask because I got the fan from a U-Pull, but I disconnected them from the male coupler on the wiring harness. Could I just cut and splice from behind that coupling? (the coupling I'm talking about is the clear plastic one coming from the wire on the fan).

To answer your question, I did have to trim a bit for the hoses but it was
pretty minor. I just used my dremel to cut out some small bits on the top
lip of the shroud for the top hose and the temperature sender. On the
bottom I had to cut a small bit for the bottom hose as well. The fan shrouds
top lip rests on the lip of the radiator for support and I use two rubber
covered clamps with some longish bolts thru the shroud to connect to the
stock nuts on the radiator itself. The hardest part was locating the holes
thru the shroud for those bolts.

When I pulled mine from the yard I kept both sides of the connectors and
just spliced all my wiring behind them which left me with a clean way to
plug in the fans. Looks bit slicker to as well.

Ok, cool. I thought that I was going the right way. Didn't want to get into some heavy metal work. I'll do it that way.
