will non-se cats fit on a se? i'm looking to replace my working cats with punched cats in order to save the working ones for emissions time or until i get a RB exhaust.

If you dont have the cats already save yourself some time and effort and just buy a testpipe or get one made. Swap it back and forth for inspections...Or just get a header. Once, I have the carb tuned on mine I will be placing my grey area header and cat on ebay. should go cheap. Its a pacesetter, please dont flame me it came on the $250.00 car.

i was thinking about a test pipe, but i'm interested in taking it one step further and making some sort of resonating section to help mellow out the pulses for the street.

i had a test pipe on my old '83 and it sounded a bit sharp.

presilencer will need a header. you might as well just start getting your exhaust in pieces. Why waste the money on the part to be fabbed and fitted. That will probably end up just being tossed in the trash when you do get the exhaust done.

cost of pieces being made kind of take away from the money being saved up to get the good stuff.

point well taken. when my tax return comes i should be able to immediately buy the header and presilencer.

i don't suppose that would sound too terrible with the 20 yr old stock muffler, eh?
