check the spark plugs for immediate gratification

for long-term monitoring, use either an exhaust temperature gauge or an air/fuel meter

$500? for a carb rebuild? Man you shoulda let one of us do it.

Check valve? You mean the silver thing in the carb return line? That MUST be installed in the return line. Put that **** back on!

No damage done. Reinstall the correct direction.
Dude, you need to use the SEARCH! function for a while till you get up to speed.

Peccas,

One of the things I think you could make the best use out of is the "edit" button. Once you've made a post, if you think of something that you wanna add, just hit "edit" and add it in.

Or even better. Take a deep breath, and THINK about everything you wanna say before hitting submit.

You didn't earn alot of respect in your first days as a forum member Peccas. Alot of people around here are a little miffed about the 5 posts about that DVD/LCD thing and I can't blame them. What makes an online *community* like this work is not hassling, spamming and harassment. Nor is it superfluous posting of one-liners, not thinking through your posts, and avoiding using the search.

You may be new to online forums, and we can respect that. We were all new to this once. So don't take this post as any sort of flamming or bashing. I simply want to tell you that if you want to get the most out of this community, and become a respected participated member, keep a few simple things in mind:

1. When you have a question, always use the search first. Then when you can't find enough info, post what you found in your search, and ask pertinant questions.

2. Think about what you post before you post it. There's no race or hurry to post your things immediately without thinking. Take a few moments, write down all the info and related things you want to say in your post before hitting submit. If you forget something, use the edit button.

3. Try to keep on-topic or close to it. This forum has many sections, all of them created for reasons. The "For Sale" section is there to buy and sell. The 1st gen is for 1st gen related topics, etc...

4. Some would argue this one's not as important but I think it is. Watch *how* you type: Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation, these are all things that let us know where your thoughts begin and end, and help us to understand you.

Take a few minutes and read the sticky at the top of the forum listing for new members if you haven't already.

I'm not really sure which valves you're thinking about, but they undoubtedly were important. If they're the fuel check valves, they keep your car from spewing gas if your car ends up belly-up somewhere. If they're the smaller filter valves near the carb, they keep the grit and crap from getting to your carb. Either way, they're things you should replace. No, they won't cost you more gas money, but they will save you a carb rebuild, or save your life from a firey death some day.

Before you install your LCD and DVD player, you should probably search around at all the posts where people have their Rx-7 broken into.......and read just how easy it is, to get inside of one.

Do yourself a favor, and list the DVD stuff on Ebay, and use the money to buy some nice Rx-7 parts.....they have them on Ebay as well, if you look around enough.

You definately don't want to bother with that stuff, if you plan on having a fast car. These Rx-7s are low powered, weight dependent performers.

Consider it one less electrical issue to worry about.

These cars are definantly theft magnets, but i guess that any car is with an lcd and dvd player.
Just something to think about.
