Heated hose part #?

Planning on flushing the coolant on my 1980. May as well replace some hardware and hoses while I’m at it however I can’t seem to find the part number for the heater hose that sits under the oil filter, if anyone is able to let me know what the number is or how to find it I would greatly appreciate it!

thanks in advance

"Hose #1, water"
8871-61-211A
OR (and I don't understand why - these all look identical AFAIK)
8871-61-230 after chassis # 592956

if you plan on keeping the car, buy 2, these will be NLA, if not already. And are unique to SA.

Once they go NLA, the part that fails is under the oil filter pedestal and tends to soak up oil dripped on it from bad tower O-rings. A simple and cheap fix is to cut the hose just before that last 90deg turn and then you can use a splice, two clamps, and generic heater hose of the proper diameter with any old 90deg bend in it. Heck, probably wouldn't hurt to make a roadside fix kit with a small section with a 90deg bend in it along with the splice kit, since that always seemed to be the section that's hard to repair. HTH,

8871-61-230 is the current part number, it fits 79-82, and the 84-85 GSL-SE, Mazda USA has plenty, and it is available.

Mazda still makes a lot of the hoses, the last set i bought for the FC were brand new, black tags made in Thailand (Mazda has a parts plant there)

we used to ask the customers if they were sitting down before we told them the prices, seriously.
The Rx7 hose lists for $64.10 (nobody pays list!), and the Covid 19 shaped MPV hose is 108.39, which is a lot for an upper radiator hose.

I paid $55.. There wasn't a leak I just had the radiator out and thought why not. I hope I kept the old hose. (I should have considering it was fine.)

I looked at the prices for the radiator hoses, for factory and replacement and decided to go with Silicone braided hoses for the upper and lower..

People want to keep the cars "looking" factory but I don't have that problem...

I paid 72.00 for the set from P2M...and later got the four aluminum hose clamps in gunmetal gray from them...they look bad ***....😎

Those are some sexy clamps; it would be nice if they added a radius to the inner edges so they didn't cut into the silicone.

Thanks...this is my first time using them...the design is not supposed to pinch the hose.. it has a metal cover that the adjusting band rides on top preventing the clamp to ride the hose while adjusting...we'll see how it performs 🤞

up for my FB (1982) I went with all new OEM hoses. It is a bit pricey but I figured fitment will be perfect and they will last another 30 or 40 years?!

My favourite clamps to use are the wave-seal style, with the corrugated inner band, they seal well, dont need to be tightened like crazy, and have a nice radius/lip so the hoses are not damaged.

Those P2M clamps looks serious! I would be worried bout it crushing my original style rad.

BTW Raven your hose for your heater core looks ready for replacement....! Mazda still makes that one.

I am glad we don't see many of these on our cars.... I have no idea why people would cover their engine bay in fake AN style clamps. Maybe the same idea as the fake brake caliper covers...
