got my new gtech pro competition, see my times with blown clutch!

First run I got, still need to calibrate the unit.

I will retest tonight.

ran a 16.824@86.08mph 1/4 mile

60' 2.638s
1/8 11.023s@68.58mph
9.149s 60mph

these are shitty times in my opinion

max HP = 97.4 @ 5380rpm
max trq = 98.6 @ 5134rpm

I can squeeze some more tonight...

stock port with full interior 1/2 tank of gas
ra1 15" tires.

opinions please

That G tech works ok, if you got a totally straight road, I hit a small dip in my trial with one, and BOOM I had 520 hp ... I think there are so many things that influence the readings of those things, therefore I passed on buying one.

guys I don't really know what you guys are talking about crap...this thing rocks...THIS IS THE NEW GTECH PRO COMPETITION NOT THE CRAPPY ORIGINAL VERSION!!!!

my car is putting the exact hp measurements as planned.

It takes some use to it but the most important thing I learned with my Gtech is the correct shift points and off the line rpms when dumping the clutch.

best times were recorded taking off at 5375rpm

60' 60mph E.T. speed
2.124 7.057 15.172 91.61
2.166 7.134 15.248 88.45
2.198 8.158 16.145 84.12
2.638 9.149 16.824 86.08
2.283 8.982 16.782 76.86
2.464 9.41 17.186 78.54

the slow times where due to my purposly bad shifting and taking off at a lower rpm to see the reaction.

HP and torque measurements are as follow:

125hp @ 5499rpm
123.9tq @ 5005rpm

GO OUT AND BUY ONE! the soon to be available PC interface should be great for tunning.

Ahh BTW I got a few mods done to my stock port 12a

I was running a Mikuni 44 carb, RB header and exhaust on my 83 stock 12a motor. My tires at the time were 205/50/15 cooper cobras and I ran consistent 15.5's @ 86mph. That was at a shitty, but real drag strip. Not sure what the hp was, never dynoed. But my 60ft times were 2.0 on the cooper cobras. I later ran 225/45/15 kumho v700s at the strip and was able to pull 1.8 60ft times and a best to date 15.2 @ 88mph. All on a stock 12a with bolt ons. I have 2 8" subs in the compartmets behind my seats too. Then I blew it running a 75 shot. Boy did it run great with that. Never got it to the track, but my buddies 91 awd talon ran a 14.2 and I beat him by almost 2 cars. It was totally worth it too! It had a good run, I beat that motor for 4 years, it was just its time. Best thing to do, get some sticky tires and launch it at 6500. I was beating all the awd cars out of the hole with that combo.

I need to practice my launch to get to your 1.8s 60ft I'm close @ 2.1s but still I know I can do better...

I got 205/50/15 toyo proxes ra1 and I need to get these tires to grip less , my clutch is slipping now so I can only hope to get my new one soon.

Funny thing is that now I know I'm on the right track since your trap times at 88 are exactly the same as mine and so your e.t.s

jjbrozak...thanks for the info man!!!!

I have used this G tech when they first came out with the newer model with the indiglow screen,

These are NOT accurate,If you want acurate times,go to the track ...You want REAL RWHP..Go to the dyno..

I think I can find another way to spend $200. on..

$200 would buy me enough dyno time to find out my HP, thats for sure . Besides, if I had one of those in my car, Id be tempted to drive fast even more than I already am .

It's $250 BTW

well what do you do when you have no track and no dyno available close by?, and all mods done to the a 12a engine besides porting? I will not install my new engine until I squeeze the most HP out of this stock one

SORROW you probably used the old software version.
I got the sofware version 2.0 and the Gtech comp can be upgraded downloading the newer versions. The previous first software release had some bugs.

This is hell of a lot cheaper than using a dyno, I can use is as many times as I want specially for tuning and when putting new parts, The track and dyno you have to pay every single time and on both you also have variables...no method is 100% accurate. Some feedback is better than no feed back and this thing is on all the time, even letting me know cornering limits in my car, I can take it to my other cars and I just made an easy $35 today testing and adjusting some cams (on a dodge neon) with it. sucker ran a 14.7

Tonight some more runs...wish we had some 1/4 mile tracks down here.

Let me see.
$20. dyno runs 3 pulls
$8. first Friday of the month unlimited runs 1/4 mile track

$250.

I still would go for my upgrades,It does not matter if you have the newest version or not,The are NOT accurate..My friend payed $200. for his about 4 months ago.If my bro has it he will probally sell it about $150.

Not to attack you Sorrow, but do you have personal experiance with the new version? Everyone that I read about in that other thread said they were accurate when compared to dyno numbers and track times. I was just thinking that maybe they have changed since you used the older one?
