Most gauges won't be accurate at the low psi that we are working with. Since a GSL has a carb, you should be shooting for around 2.5 psi. If you are using a Holley pump, then you will need a fuel pressure regulator to go with it or you will force too much fuel into the carb...

My holley pump crapped out on me after about a year and a half. That was only about 4K miles though.

A lot of good has been said about Carter pumps. I believe Paul Yaw even stated they're twice as dependable than a Holley pump at half the cost. I've got a Carter pump waiting to go on my FB, along with a list of other things...

I have a Holley blue that came with a carb I bought off eBay. Mounting it in the stock location, it would not even pull fuel from the tank. Putting a short hose on on the itake side and and sticking it a fuel can, it pulled fine. Needless to say, it is in the cabinet and not on a car.

Edit.

Oh boy, 4k posts. LOL.
