Bad water seals?

my car wont start it is an 85 GS. im getting good compression in the front rotor, and okay compression on the rear rotor, fuel and sparkare great too and i have cleaned the spark plugs several times with carb cleaner and it didnt help , but she wont run just crank, i had a guy who owned an rx-7 tell me that my problem was the water seals and that i should try towing it to start it but i want to know from people who know what their doing before i try this. also when its turning over the carb spits back does this mean its time for a rebuild? any input would be greatly appreciated Thanks!

Carb spitting does not mean it needs a rebuild, can be an indicator possibly. Go ahead and push/pull start. Try brake cleaner and compressed air to clean the plugs.

probably not the best way to clean a plug but i just used a clean up brush on mine to see if it'd help at all, and well it worked wonders.

could be something wrong with the carb. it could possibly be frozen internally or your needle could be stuck.

If the engine is turning over fine, but just not starting, what's the point of towing?

Towing raises the rpms hugher than the starter can, this will often overcome flooding by increasing spark without adding more fuel.
