Talking Flames?

Im hoping to have my car back on the road soon, after 6 months.. I've still got all the emissions crap except for the acutal cat which i replaced with a straight pipe... i've got a header, 2 1/4" exhaust all the way back.. So this should give me some flames right?
What do you guys usually do to make is spit them out? Any ideas on size of flames, or does that vary with car?

Also my car is running perfect, as in not lean but not rich either, my exhaust tips are nice and clean.. I've got the A/F gauge so i know its not lean.... can the fact that the car is not rich affect the flames

FLAMES= FUEL HITTING HOT HEADERS

so you need to be running rich to really see anything unless your cycling fuel through off-throttle (racecars while decelerating).

My fuel pump was replaced so it was tuned with that one which was only giving out 25 PSI anyways, so im guessing now with the new one i should be rich anyways since im acutally at the proper PSI.

But either way it shouldn't be rich to the point where i accelerate and a black cloud comes out right?

We have seen it (and discussed it) before. It is photoshopped rather well.

No it's not photoshopped well.... For one thing it looks ugly sitting on the ground like that.... (Lowering ruins the proportions) for another thing there's no way wheels will tuck into the fenders like that unless the wheels are 5" wide. And if you're going to go to the trouble of cutting up the rear framerails to get the back end that low you'll probably also spring for flared fenders

The '85 has no converter and doesn't shoot flames unless the engine dies while rolling. The '80 shot flames all day long when it was stock - when I de-smogged it and put headers an better exhaust on it, it stopped popping and banging and flamed no more.

Basically, if you got 'em you got 'em, if you don't then oh well....

Thanks, but like everyone says, Yes its photoshopped.. A guy lowered it for me in the lounge, and my brother added in the wheels.... But That is MY car with my front airdam and paint.. I know its not driveable but i wouldn't mind my car really being like that.....

The pictures of my real car are here:

It doesn't matter on the fuel pump pressure, your computer in the car always keeps the car in the stoich area of the guage. Only way to go real rich on the SE is to go carb'd or aftermarket ECU!

No flames for you my friend. UNless something isn't functioning right under the hood.

i have a '79 and when im comin off the highway after a good run ( usually constant 120), when i shift into forth gear to use the motor to decelerate, it gets blue flames that are about a foot or so long, for a couple seconds(usually 2-5). i have it on video if you want to see. (by the way, blue flames mean all of your fuel is burning up)

why go fast when you can just put a spark plug in your exhaust.
