Fb3s = Sa22c?

hey guys, i know im a 2nd gen owner but somthing sparked my intrest when i was reading my Rx7 Hyperev (japanese rx7 guide) and it did not mention anything about an FB3s, it only showed/ stated things about the SA22C which i always thought was the 1st gen Chassis code until recently when i first heard people calling their 7's up to 85 FB's. Was there only an FB3s in the states or is it a easier to remember nickname? thanks -alex

The 1st gen cars had the SA22C VIN pretty much everywhere except NA so yes, you have a FB.

I, OTOH, have a SA any way you cut it.

Yeah I noticed that when I first moved to the states also. I've always called all 1st gens SA's. Do they call them FB's in europe or australia, because we call all of them SA22C back in japan

Well to be 100% right,
SA22C is 79-85 for non-us cars
but for north american models (includes US)
SA22C is 79-80
FB33 is 81-85

The only fb with the 13b engines are the 84 and 85 gsl-se. They are pretty much identical to the 84 and 85 gtx that was sold in japan except that in japan they came with a 12a turbo instead of the 13b. I'm guessing that they had the gtx in australia and europe
