engine stand adaptor

Ok, one of these days I'm gonna be pulling the engine outta the LE and rebuild it, but mazdatrix wants $90 for a damn stand adaptor. Are there any other companies that make them? if not does anyone wanna be my friend and make me one? If I had a welder and knew how to use it I'd make my own, but alas I don't

I just put my old engine on a creeper so I could pull it around. It held it pretty well.

I have built several engines and i never used a stand. I think they are somewhat limiting and get in the way. If i were you i wouldent worry about it. Just get like a good smal table and do it that way or just like 6 inch thick by 2 foot wide flat plank plank of wood works good too. when your measuring or porting stuff i usually have the plates and housings on my work bench any ways since its mor at my level rather than down on a stand. then once every thing is in the rotors as far as seals etc. and the water o rings in the housings, its a 15 minute slide together job. Basically a stand is a waste of money, i bought one, and it just takes up room.

Thanks for pics carl, guess I'll do something like that.
badass: If I had access to an impact gun of that size I'd definatly use it, but I can't think of anyone who has something that massive, maybe my boss but I doubt it.

Hey Carl,
That looks like a good idea! I use a plastic milk crate bolted to a little wheeled cart, myself. I used to use my wife's little red Radio Flyer wagon to tote motors around, until I scratched it up.
What kind of plugs are in that motor? Just curious. -WG

My spare engine bolted to the engine stand my uncle has. We just used some metric bolts.
