Dilema?

Alright, here's the lowdown.

Earlier today, I made a big purchase, that actually came out of "seven-funds."

1988 RX 7 Base Model

Ended up paying $700.

It's in fairly good condition, with the exception of a dented passenger fender (GRRRR!) and a thrashed passenger seat.

The question is, though:

Do I keep it as a daily driver, and do some light mods here and there, while restoring the FB?

Or, do I gut it for all I can put on the FB, and keep searching for a Protoge to buy as my daily driver?

Ok, gut the interior and sell all the bits and peices, drive it daily untill you find a protege and then use it as a track ****....

SO, basically, both options? lol.

I'm SURE it's been asked before, but what peices are easy moves from my FC to my FB?

I KNOW I'd like that motor in my FB, but, yeah. (This car was cheaper than any SEs you can find around here)

What about the seats? I had heard (or maybe I was dreaming after falling asleep at the computer ) that they are almost directly bolt in?

Although only one seat is worth it. . . . the passenger can suffer with the old FB seat, dammit!

The FC bug bit me. Driving that one home, someone offered to trade their 87 base model converted to GTU for my truck. Needless to say, once I secure the title to the truck, I have a CHERRY FC to cruise around, while the little ghetto one that I got for $700 becomes my FB's organ donor

I wouldn't do the organ doning from FC to FB unless it's a TII. I just don't see the swap being worth it otherwise.

I say use the $700 one as a daily driver, forget the protoge, and restore the FB to pristine. Just keep the FC in good running order, do little fixes here and there, get the seat and fender patched, and maybe down the line you can sell it for more to further your FB project.

Well, the point is, I now have TWO FCs. ANd, yes, I'm saying **** it to the Protoge, btw.

I'm thinking that no matter what, a 140 HP 13B is better than a 100 HP 12A, no?

I'll agree, but the work and money it takes may not be worth it. I think it sounds like a good idea if you have the time to do it.
