Unhappy Parts dilema

Well, i'm about to embark on a very expensive and probably foolish journey. I'm about to begin shelling clams on mods for my car. I have one major dilema however; I dream of eventually building my FD with only MAZDASPEED parts. I mean, it would be cool and $h*t to have a fully decked out FD with genuine Mazda parts right?

Is it worth it in your opinions? Worth the price? Worth the cool factor? Worth it at all?

Should I just mix and match with good parts that are available? I would really like everyone's opinions. Thanks!

I think that would be pretty nice or rare look to have an all mazda speed fd. And for what parts you want to use probaly comes down to personal like. And if your willing to spend the $$ for that sertein thing. Me I like the rareness look of having something that many other dont have or a one of a kind deal you only have. Most the stuff on my fd is mix of diff brands mostly greddy and apex. Iam pretty satisfied with the stuff I have right now. Few ppl have the same intake maybe exaust too. But I think well lest I know of not many have the same set ups like I use for my stuff. Hope I can help ya out some how bud.

you are mad :p

mazdaspeed gear is is obnoxiously expensive - and there is plenty of aftermarket gear of the same, or greater, quality

typical example:
* mazdaspeed bonnet: 314,000yen
* amemiya bonnet: 150,000yen

Is the mazdaspeed better quality? no. Is it justifiably worth over twice as much? no.

Your money though!

One thing to remember though - who, other than you, will be able to tell that it's all mazdaspeed gear?

My bud and business partner Chris has a white Mazdaspeed FD....the car is sick. People drive past us on the highway and take pics all the time. If you'd like to know more, call the shop and talk with him about the car. I would tell you to PM him, but his PM priveleges have been revoked

I'm with DaiOni. Don't waste your money on getting all MazdaSpeed parts.

Most people say to get the best of each manufacturer and you will accomplish more with less money.

Best fuel computer - Power FC
Best intercooler - depends on your need but M2 is nice so is Blitz and Greddy etc.
Best intake - depends on whether you want a cold air box or not
etc.

No one here really cares if its all MazdaSpeed or all HKS or all M2. It is all a matter of how well your car performs overall.

If, however, you feel like spending a **** load of cash, you can always donate to help me buy another condo.

All Mazdaspeed??

I just don't see why. What's the point? Who cares if at's all Mazdaspeed. It's not like that makes your car better in ANY way. It's a waste of time and money. Better parts are available for less money.

Really bad idea!!

To each his own, but I agree that you will be spending WAY more money than necessary to obtain the same performance with less expensive parts.

Your car, do what you like. Personally tho, I wouldn't shell out all that cash when I could get BETTER quality parts for less.

I try not to think about price when it comes to parts as I'm big on quality and craftsmanship. However, I could pay way less mod for mod and carefully chose my parts and say my FD could outperform yours with confidence.

But as I said, your car, no one should tell you what to do with it

I was looking through some Mazdaspeed parts. I REALLY would like to take a look at the IC and intake they have. I really like the way it fits, looks stock, etc.

Problem is, the IC looks to be pretty much the same size or slightly larger than the stock IC... $1155 for both. M2 setup would cost $2000, and give more power.

Problem is, I disagree with people about the quality, thier quality is probably quite a bit better than MANY aftermarket suppliers.

I can name a host of vendors for parts that I would go to before I went to mazdaspeed. And that is based on quality, not price.

Go all mazdaspeed, put it in shows, and see if you can get sponsored by Mazdaspeed. It'd be cool to have an all one manuf. car, rare and you know everything would work together (no fitment issues with IC intakes, etc)

I'd think Mazdaspeed would be equal to or greater than most manufacturers out there. But I could be wrong. I do like the idea that there would be no fitment issues and the rareness factor would be worth it. Getting sponsored would be way cool. Thanks for all the input.
