Question My RX-7 Dilema!!??!!

Hey everybody...

I'm kinda new to RX-7s, but I've wanted one for a long time. Well, about 3 months ago an opportunity presented itself to me for a strong running 1986 base model, with 130,000 miles on it. I bought it, for $750 bucks and I'm happy with it, starting to slowly mod it. I have an intake, and a mindtrain header with racepipe.

Here's my dilema.

I've been offered TWO, yes TWO, more RX-7s for the nice low price of $1,000 bucks. I'm going to jump on this deal for sure. One of them is a 1988 N/A and the other is a 1990 Turbo ii. The N/A has about 55,000 miles on it, and the owner thinks it needs a new tranny, but he's not sure (which is no big deal to me) and the Turbo ii has about 47,000 miles on it and just had a rebuilt tranny put into it because the owner got a good deal on the beefed up tranny (something about making it stronger he said, not really sure though what he meant) so it's not like the Turbo ii had been beat on, cuz the tranny that was in there was fine.

Now, I simply CAN'T have all three of them, despite the fact that I would love to keep them all, I just don't have the room to store them all. The N/A that I'm getting is in a little better shape than my current RX-7, and it has lower miles. I KNOW that I'm going to keep the Turbo ii (that's a no brainer) but my problem is I don't know what to do with the two N/As.

Should I sell mine with 130,000 miles for as much as I can get and put the money into modding the two newer ones??

Or should I sell the one with only 55,000 miles on it (which would get substantially more money around my area, because RX-7s are SO rare, let alone RX-7s in good shape) and use the money to put into the other two cars??

I'm guessing from the pictures I've seen, that the newer N/A could go for about $3500 to $4000 bucks around here, and the one I have now would only be worth about $1500, so if I sold my current one, I wouldn't have as much money to spend on modding, but I'd have a newer N/A with lower miles, and, if I sold the newer N/A I'd have an older one with higher miles (that still runs VERY strong) and more money to modify the others with.

I guess, in closing, I'd like to say that I want to supercharge my N/A regardless of what happens, so if I sold the newer one I'd probaby have enough to get my supercharger and all the other mods for my current N/A.

Well, I've rambled on enough, but I could really use some others opinions on this, I'm not good at making up my own mind!!

Sell the NAs, buy a convertible. That's the one you want to supercharge.

Keep the TII, that's the one that can handle the EXTREEM HP mods (can you say 450+HP on the OEM TII trans & rear diff? - the TII trans is THAT strong.

Probably a stronger clutch I'd imagine (the turbo & a strong clampling clutch go together VERY well.

EZ enough

I really don't want to sell both of the N/As though, I'd like to keep one of them and the Turbo II...I mean, keeping the TII is an easy one, I wouldn't think of selling that, but the N/As have got me really thinking!!!

You rich people! Suffer. Three cars! Why, do you know there's some poor South Korean kid that does not have even one much less three. I'd rid myself of the older car after I put all the good parts into the newer one. All those new parts that you've bought to make the older one work. Then I'd concentrate on the turbo until it was first rate. Thats if I was some rich American with three cars. Workers of the world unite! Why its pure hedonism.

I'm definately not gonna keep all three of them though...Hell, I live with my parents, and they don't even know I have ONE yet, and I've had it for three months, let alone three!!

If you decide to sell the older NA let me know. How much would you be willing to sell it for if you took off all the mods?

Playin w/wankel, I didn't actually find them. I have a friend who lives in Atlanta, Georgia, and he has a friend that lives near Chicago. Well, Sean (Atlanta guy) knew I liked RX-7s, and the guy in Chicago is offering them to Sean for the thousand bucks because his wife is divorcing him and wants the cars and he doesn't want her to have them, so Sean is gonna "buy" them from him and have me go pick them up to "deliver" to Atlanta, then I'm just going to keep them, because Sean wants an FD not an FC...

Ahhhhh, I've got friends in low places!! LOL....

Jeff

Hey Gizmot, what size bike you got, I might be willing to work a trade for a bike....

You sell both NA's, put all the money into the TII, make into one of those killer TII's that we see so often on the street which makes us wet our pants, and then have the time of your life.
No point having two of the same generation, especially supercharging an NA when you have a TII sitting right there!
Well thats my take anyways.

hehe
it's a 84 honda VF500F, new engine, tire, battery, like new , about 20000 miles, run like a charm
gearing is made so acceleration is wonderfull (1/4 in 12 sec compare to 10,5 for a a 2002 yamaha R1) but top speed suffer.
The V4 honda is a really smooth engine that was rebuild this summer (1000$ bill). Red and white honda competition! (i was thinking of racing it next summer). Oh, and the seat is great, its a double seat made for long run)
she can even beat my dad 1100!
