Dammit here we go again!!!!

****!!!! while i was out today taking pics of the FB ...i was in a HUGE empty parking lot so i did a few donuts and peeled out like crazy.....well after that (maybe 20 mins after)...i was on the highway and i started to feel i vibration on low speed......i wasn't even in gear.......i was doing about 60 and put it in nuetral and i coasted it to a stop and i heard a big HUM all around the car......i think it is my drivshaft (because this has happened to me before but i replaced the drive shaft with a used one not a new one......so i think that just bit me in the ***!!)...yeah i thik this is my problem ..AGAIN!!! DAMMIT@@!!! ahh crap i have no one to blame but myself......but with that info what do you guys think??? i think i am right but ....i hope its not the trasmission...becasue it does shift fine!!!

any ideas..what could it be???


the one i replaced it with was another OLD one.....maybe it was on its way out???

yeah, if that does turn out to be the problem then i would check the pinion angle and make sure the bushings are not worn out on your suspension. this driveshaft lasted what 6 months? you did grease the u-joints when you installed it right?

did you check the u-joints when you installed it? if thats it then just replace them

Is your 83 GS still a one-legger or did you upgrade to an LSD? Burnouts -- aka "one tire fires" -- are very, very bad for an open diff. If the driveshaft is not the problem, then the diff becomes a suspect.

Did you happen to be burning just 1 tire a lot during your "fun"? If so, its possible you wrecked your diff. I don't see how this could cause a vibration, but if the berings went bad, then it would created a humming sound.

Hey, at least he blames himself. Not too smart, but he sounds like a nice, ethical guy. I've got a spare driveshaft I'll let go for next to nothing, first bid over $300. And a good tranny for $600.

What the??? im sorry if i am reading this wrong but are you selling me a drive shaft for 300 bucks???? um thats a little high isn't it????......and also...what year rx7 did the drive shaft come off of? If its an 82 and under then i can use it...if its 83-85 then i CAN NOT USE IT!!!!

You can have your driveshaft completely rebuilt and balanced for less than $150.
