Clutch differences between SA and FB

was just wondering if i could use the clutch out of a FB(1985), in a 1980 SA? or would i have to swap trans... i know the trans is a slight bit different and would require more effort in getting it it.

They're all single dry plate, diaphragm spring, hydraulically operated clutches, though the 84-85 tranny is different

the bell housing from my old S1 engine wouldnt fit on the S3 engine i got now..
the S3 engine has a lighter flywheel (i think) and the clutch is resseed into it alot more..

the clutch i think was a little smaller in dameter too, but it still works.

and im pretty sure the tranny will still work, but dont quote me on that one.

NO!

the 79-82?? motors have the 215mm clutch and very little dish on the flywheel, the 83-85 have the 225mm clutch and a much deeper dish on the flywheel. I ran into this problem when putting a 83 motor into my car when i went to swap the clutch over... no deal.

You need to know if they changed the rotor weights and therefore, the flywheel weights between 1980 and 1985. I think they did.
