Carb rebuild question

I've been disassembling my carb today and I appear to be missing two parts. In the photo, the screws labeled 3 and 12 were not in my carb when I was taking it apart.

1. What are these screws called?
2. I assume they are necessary so where can I get them.
3. Could this be why I was experiencing sputtering acceleration on my primaries but decent acceleration on my secondaries? I was expecting this problem to be due to the accelerator pump but that diaphragm seemed fine.

Thanks for any help!!

It ran without air bleeds?

Yes you will improve your acceleration soo much when you put the carb back together.

Yeah, those parts were simply not there. I guess someone rebuilt it and left them out. I'll call the Rotary Doctor in MO on Monday or maybe my local Mazda dealer.

Heynoman, if you got them let me know please!

Those are required. If you can't find them message me. I have a couple parts carbs laying around.

The parts you are missing are the primary air bleeds. I can't believe it ran without those in place.. Scary..

I feel really dumb, I put them by my accelerator pump bits and lost track of them. I put everything back together and I got the car running...at idle anyway. When I try to drive it the car sputters like crazy and has very little power. I think I may have connected my vacuum line improperly. I deleted my rats nest awhile ago but I've been considering reinstalling it to get the car running properly.

I'm pretty sure I got the jets right but it looks like there is a bit of a fuel leak as well (I found some on the spacer "tray" where the carb meets the engine). So it looks like I'll have to pull the carb off again and have another go at it.

Secondaries don't seem to be kicking in

So I got my rebuilt carb installed and reconnected all my vacuum lines (I've removed my rats nest) and throttle cables and it idles fine, right at 800 RPM but I've got a couple of issues.

1. The secondaries aren't kicking in (and yes, my teeter totter is on).

2. The choke doesn't seem to be working. I've included a couple of photos if that helps.

Here's a photo with my choke lever pulled out.

The bit the pliers are pointing to is what to look for.

This is the float level through the front window.

Any idea what I did wrong when hooking this up?

This is at idle.

This is at full throttle. Definitely no fuel from the secondary jets but plenty from the primary jets at full throttle.
