Car troubles.

So recently I have had difficulty getting my 84 GS to start. Recently replaced the spark plugs, terminal clamps, and also had the battery checked as well. Sometimes it will start others times it doesn't. I thought the engine was flooded but that was not the case. When try to start the vehicle, i can hear a chug chug chug, but nothing happening. And today i was driving doing about 45 mph and lost power and was stuck until i got towed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would start with your charging circuit. Make sure the battery is getting recharged while running. Check the alt output while running to see that its putting out more than 12 volts. A weak battery will cause hard starts because it can't spin the motor fast enough. Unlike piston engines, rotary have to be cranked at a speed high enough to seal the combustion chambers. So just cause it spins doesn't mean it will always start. Your other symptom where it stopped cold could have been running on the battery and it finally lost all its juice.
