engine stutters at high rpm

giving slow consistent throttle will allow me to gain rpms but quick acceleration causes the engine to stutter and lose power.
im running 13b na with mikuni sidedraft carburetor, 85 stock distributor and coils with vacuum advance hooked up to carburetor. electric fuel pump and properly sized carburetor jets. no ecu or computers etc. Ive narrowed it down to be one of most likely things: fuel pressure, bad vacuum advance (one moves under less pressure then the other?), bad coils dying etc, carb running rich.
have any ideas or things I may not be thinking of?

Your carb is probably not adjusted right. Your transition circuit is not working to get you from idle to throttle open smoothly. I doubt its the coils, vac advance. The fuel pressure could be an issue if its over 4-5 psi. Most mikuni and webbers like around 3 psi.

Go here and read the Webber and Dellorto tuning book Foxed.ca

rotorholic helped me troubleshoot the issue and found that my Main Air jets are too big, this led to the issue of trying to die at 4k rpm when the main jets kicked in and let in too much air. the main air is a part of the main jet circuit.
