Guys, are you going to play nice or am I going to have to get out my Canadian Lead Pipe Of Forum-Moderating Justice (tm)?

Jay, leave Rusty alone. You crossed the line when you directed the negative comments towards Rusty instead of the sport of drifting itself. Leave him be. If he wants to drift he can drift.

Edit: read proceeding posts on second page, thank you for apologizing Jay.

Rusty, at least you got some info on how to do it. If you ever find a way to get the ebrake to properly lock the back wheels in any scenario I'd love to hear it. As it is, with brand new brakes ALL round, including a new MAZDA e-brake cable, my car can barely hold itself parked!

Jon

Yes, Jon, thankfully, I noticed how much of an *** I was being, and rightfully apologized.
Keepin' the peace, man, keepin' the peace.

As others have said, though, Rusty, even with a modification, I don't think the E-Brake will do you much good. The E-Brake just doesn't have enough grip to even slow the car down, let alone lock the wheels.
I know this because I've had to tow MULTIPLE first gens, and the first three I ended up hitting the tow person (my home boy) because the E-brakes didn't do **** for stopping the car. This was with both drum AND disc setups, so I think you'll either need a whole new ebrake setup, or just clutch drop to break your traction.

EDIT:
Also, on the seat matter:
There are some VERY slight modifications that you can do to put FC seats in (I think the rails need adjusting or something like that). I don't know the specifics, but search would be a good thing here
What I'm getting at is this: There's a whole shank load more seats available for FCs than there are for FB/SA's. By doing this simple (if I remember right) modification, you'll open up your choices by hundreds.

[QUOTE=Rusty Shackleford]which seat is that? i have been looking at the cheap one they have..forgot the name..and cant find it..but im also interested in these seatsQUOTE]

The seat is a sprint with the FB rails and some aluminum flat bar. I can take the seat out and take a shot of the mod, it work just fine, I lost just a bit of rear adjustment due to a bolt head.

Yep, the stock sliders and some bar aluminum, easy to do and it drops you down a full inch, nice thing when you have a helmet on.

I don't have a problem with 6'5 and helmet and stock GSL seating, although a more dished steering wheel would be nice.

Do you have a custom seat, Peejay? No, you said stock. That's odd, because my friend, who is only an inch taller than you, can't even drive my GSL O_O

Its alot easier for an underpowered car to start the oversteer by using the ebrake, plus less wear on the clutch, no clutch popping or riding. If your coming into a tight S-turn it's alot easier to tap the ebrake to get the weight to transfer after the first turn to get the maximum angle for the second turn. When I drift my fatass 3100lb convertible I tend to just pop the clutch alittle to get power to spool then hold it from there. When yours brain says to turn the wheel back, you just wait a little bit longer then tell your hands to move

How far forward does he have the seat? On my car I generally have the front corner of the seat (not the center cushion) about even with the shift lever. This is something like five or six clicks forward from all the way back. Then the headrest (which is all the way up) is roughly even with the doorframe. I sit with my butt up against the front edge of the "butt pocket" and brace my right knee against the corner of the center console.

I cannot drive straight-legged - not enough ankle motion, and the FB seats are too far off of the floor so my weight would all rest on my thighs. (My thighs are huge, and I have no butt) There's no way I could drive with the seat all the way back. Plus there wouldn't be enough headroom that way, either, since I'd have to have the seatback bolt upright in order to just reach the steering wheel.

Really, it's no problem.

Well, we put it all the way back, but I've been thinking my seats are sort of wacko for quite some time now. "All the way back" only means about an extra inch or two (that's with the stock seat OR the replacement I pulled from a parts car).
