I always broke it down even further:
Road Race= Asian K1 (no holds barred, bare knuckle)
Drag= Olympic Karate (Takes skill, but not as impressive to watch)
Drift= Tai Chi (very pretty, but ineffectual in its modern form)

Yes I know Tai Chi is one of the most effective martial arts when done the old way, but much like Capoiera it has become a dance more than a martial art.

I'm sure it's lots of fun, but if you intend to take this hobby seriously you had better ditch that auto quick, or you will be making an *** out of your self (and all the real asian kids will laugh at you)

to all seriousness, it's harder to drift FB's since the steering geometry is entirely different and a little bit worse compared to the 86's. power to power, they're head on. chassis wise, i think FB's have a slight edge.

my one and only question is, how can you compair speed drifting with Rally?

two entirely different things there.

Sure, rally cars slide around corners, but you know why?

they are on dirt and if you have ever driven a dirt road at any kind of speed, you would see that its unnavoidable to slide a bit. which is the complete opposite of speed drifting.

just IMO and my .02

you really should get to know rally more , Rally races take place on many different road surfaces, broken down its Tarmac, gravel and snow.

Tarmac= asphalt, there are many rally races that take place on tarmac which is the connection to speed drift.

Ae86 w/o LSD is still a better drifter due to its indep suspension and tighter turning radius

didn't mean to start a tussle just a simple question gone wrong. I am not all knowing but i do know that two exact same cars with same skill drivers and knowlage of the road , on a hairpin turn type corse , the driver useing speed drift technique is going to beat the one using tipical cornering techniques . and as for alex. I refuse to respond to ignorant amtures with a smaller vocab than brains . again I am not all knowing but I open my mouth only to ask a question to help find faqs or if i know what im talking about, you however seem to not grip any concepts of stating facts in a disput for truth. thnxs for your help to evry one else

i agree to everyone, on this. drift is show and can be used for speed but only in certain situations. I mean who would wanna drift in a 3 hour race anyway? all those tire changes. just a dumb response but i just wanted to get in it...

I'm sorry, I should have never questioned the oppinion of a profesional like you. And in the end it was your earth shattering vocabulary that made me see the light.

You still don't know what the **** you're talking about.

I am sorry for my malicious hijacking of your thread. So go on with your quest to become a bad *** drifter.

Carry on, stupid. I will steer clear. I promise.

Alright fuckstick, I offered a way out, and you're still combative. Of course, I am too. but mark my words, I WILL have the last word between the two of us.

And if you're talking about me saying that you don't know what the **** you're talking about several times, It's because you don't and you still don't seem to understand that you don't. But that's because you're an idiot.

Look, just shut your mouth, and I'll stay off your thread......................

[QUOTE=rx7spadeace] this technique was invented to give fr cars the ability to monuver a corner at the same speeds and recover better than awd cars. QUOTE]
