I'm a month away from 39. I owned an 80 rx-7 as a graduation present and loved that car. I am now geting back to the REX scene, restoring an 85 gsl for my daughter's first car. If I don't keep it for myself.{g}

I'm 26 and just bought my first Rx-7 it's an '83 with a 13B and a lot of problems! It is a project in the works and I hope to have it on the road sometime next summer, I am in no real hurry because I want to do it right plus it is sitting safely in my garage out of harms way! I grew up building streetrods and race cars with my dad, and when I was 16 I restored a VW Deluxe Transporter that sat rotting in a junkyard for 16 years prior. So, I not scared of the challenge! My other car is a Subaru WRX wagon.

Im 21, I obtained my fist FB when I was 16 by swapping it for my shitty honda civic, It came all in bits and I had to build the whole thing up by myself. I got an '88 TII when i was 19, but it got stolen recently, no insurance...gone so sad. Now I have another FB im rebuilding for the four and rotary nationals here in NZ, its only 6 weeks away.....I gotta hurry.

All my cars since I was 15

1978 Hillman Hunter S/W(Bright Orange)(crashed)
1984 Honda Civic(piece of ****)
1979 Mazda RX7, series 1 12a (Built/painted myself, montego blue)
1988 Toyota Celica(Blew up, repaired then crashed)
1991 Toyota MR2 GT Limited(very worked ex japan track car)
1991 Nissan Skyline GTS25(previously crashed and bent, unknowen to me)
1971 Ford Falcon 500 S/W(Project beach machine)
1988 Mazda RX7, Series 4(all series 5 13bt running gear)(STOLEN!!)
1979 Mazda RX7, Series 1 12a bridgeport(current project, soon to be running)

Motorbikes

1988 Honda 50cc(HELL YEAH!!!)
1990 Yamaha TZR 250cc(2stroke, very quick)
1991 Suzuki GSXR250cc(not as quick but nicer to ride and better gas mileage)

well, i'm 29 (going on 54+ )

got bit back in '87 when my brother bought his first '83 GSL and then let me drive it - it's only gotten worse since!

when i turned 17, i bought my first car ... a black '82 GS with burgundy leather (and a back seat) - it got stolen about 3 months later

next was my silver '81 - eventually, i sold it - i started doing my own mechanical work!

next was my blue '83 w/SE suspension - did the most damage with this car ... went through about 6-7 motors (both 12A and 13B), 1 tranny - raced anything that moved - hurt a lot of people's feelings ... hehehe - crashed it, and never really fixed it after that. eventually, after 7 years, i scrapped it and sent it to rest.
R.I.P. "Rocko" - luv ya!

took a slight hiatus and bought a 91 MR2 Turbo, but always knew i would get another Rx-7 someday.

someday came a lot quicker than i thought, because i bought my '84 GS last year (i was actually looking for VW GTI/Golf as a daily driver, so i could start working the MR2, when i came across the 7) - and that's what i'm running now. it's my daily driver! 13B with a bad-*** intake, blah, blah, blah!

I'm 18 and I got my '80 SA about 6 months ago. It's got headers, straight-through exhaust, the rare "whale tail" spoiler and a really cool ground effect. I've attached a pic. I have 3 more if popular demand, uh.. er... demands it.

Oh yeah, i'm 18 and i'm going onto my 2nd fb,

1st) My uncle's 85 gs
2nd) Friend's 85 gsl-se (coming as soon as i sell my gs)

I see nothign but rotors in my future.... Maybe a boinger for a passenger car. (Hopefully a nice honda civic ECONOMY CAR, (as they arent race cars no matter what you think) and put a nice "Honda Ricing" sticker in the window)

So yup.

38 seems to be a popular age. I've had 4 RX-7's:

'79 S
'86 GXL

Now I have a '93 Base and a '83 GSL.

Bought the '79 in college and have been hooked ever since.

The newer the gen, the less reliable it is. Hope Mazda will work on quality with the 4th gen...

24 and been into rotaries since I was 15. First car was an 83 GS. Know I have an 84 GS and I love this car. I JUST CAN'T BRAKE IT! Then I'll rebuild and port, maybe just go with a 13B.

I'm 44 years old, was just given my first SA, though I've been into RX4s for a few years. I currently have a '74 RX4 coupe and a '76 coupe for parts. I also have a project RX3 gathering dust in the garage, I'll get 'er done one of these years. My '80 sat in the Kalifornia sun for almost ten years. It was my stepdad's sister's car, she bought it new in 1980. The clearcoat is way faded from sitting in the sun for so long, but other than that the body is perfect, not a ding on it, and NO RUST. I cleaned out the fuel system, towed it down the road and she started right up! Runs pretty good, too. No excessive smoking or any unpleasantness. I'm currently restoring it. My first love is my RX4, although I have been enjoying the "siete"! -WG

You, my friend, are a true rotor-head!

Do you have any decent PICS?

Up until age 25 I drove various air cooled cars. VW's and Corvairs
In 91 at age 25 I finally got my first 7 (84GS) which I still have. 3 years ago I got my 2nd (85GSL AUTO) and last year an 85S (more of a parts car at the moment). Soon I will be adding to the family another 85 GSL. Man I love these cars! Oh, I'm 36.
