1984 Nikki keeps dumping gas

I have this 1984 Mazda RX-7 GSL with the stock 12a. I recently removed the emissions on the engine and carb only (did not touch the intake). I followed the guide on how to remove the carb emissions and now my secondaries keep dumping gas when I try to crank it. I disconnected the secondaries and it kept going.
What could be the problem?

You might try putting things back one by one until it's fixed.

I would reinstall the emissions rack and any other part that you took out. When using a stock carb, you dont really gain any power. Sure you gain some simplicity, but at what cost? You can experience poor running condition and poor fuel mileage. Ray Green did a comparison years back with one of his cars. Stock snd with the rats nest removed. He concluded that the rats nest actually yielded worse fuel economy.

If you were going with an aftermarket carb or even a Sterling carb copy, then the emissions removal makes sense. On a stock carb, it never made sense to me.

Make sure you have the fuel vent open to atmosphere or connected into the air cleaner preferably. If its plugged it can cause syphoning of fuel out of the bowls. Your issue doesn't necessarily sound like this is the case but since you did a rats nest delete it could be an issue at some point.

Eventually I will be bridgeporting it and changing the intake and carb with one of racing beats carb kits. Don't know which one I will choose but I decided to get rid of the emissions because of this. Just doing what probably has to been done eventually.

I fixed it! I had to put the air vent solenoid in the open position. I didn't do it originally because I didn't want mess with the carb to much because honestly I am pretty new to carb work. Originally I had pulled the solenoid back to what I thought was the open position with wire and took the wire connected to the nut out (which I regret doing) and JB welded the wire in place. This didn't work and it turns out I could have ran a 12v wire to the battery, which I could no longer do. I later pushed the solenoid in and that fixed the problem.
