12A race engine wiring

I've completed the install of my 12a into My 71 MG Midget, now I need to wire it up. This is basically a track car but this is my 1st rotary so I'm use to having 1 wire come out of the distrobuter...not 4, ( 5 if you include the condenser. I figure since there are 2 coils it basically the same wiring done twice). Can anyone tell me what goes where?
This is my guess...Black wires go to their own coils - side. But from there I'm stumpped.

In my sig line is a link to the online FSMs which incude the wiring diagrams. Download the 85 Edition, that should show you everything you need. Iirc, the condensor is for radio static, I don't believe you need it, unless you're installing a 79 points style ignition.

It's pretty simple. You wire 12V ign to the coils, ignitors and condensor. Then you just run the negative side of each coil to it's respective ignitor. There are wiring diagrams available on the net.

that pic is weak sauce. look into the faq page here, there you will see something about DLISDLIF or something along that line. and it should also talk about using a 2nd gen coil in that some paragraph. so look that up. thereis a link for jeff20b, he has a great write up and a much better diagram.

wrong. there are 2 coils= leading and trailing.

if you have the stock wire coming out of the igniters, the thick black with yellow or white strip goes to the coils positive terminal while the other thin wire connects to the negative side. (leading igniter faces the front; trailing faces the alternator).

Then find a wire an ignition wire (voltage with the key ON) from the MG's stock harness. Connect this to the coil's + terminal.

Thanks Wacky racer
Luckily I do have the wires on the ingniters so I should be able to figure this out. Actually the MG has no harness...strickly race car. Should be under 1,000 pounds by now.

then thats even easier. Run a relay to run both coils. Must be fun replacing the spark plugs since a MG has a small engine compartment.

The spark plugs are easy to access in my rotarded MG Midget. Just gotta reach above or around the steering shaft.
