12A distributor OK on 13B?

I have a 74 REPU to complement my stable of 3 FBs, and it has a 13B with the old points type ignition. I cannibalized a wrecked 84GSL at the boneyard for distributor and coils ($20) with the idea of converting the REPU. That 12A electronic dist oughta be OK in the 13B, right? Right?

I guess there's a diagram at Mazdatrix.

Anybody know if the 12A and 13B distributors are interchangeable?

The advance curves are different. I installed a 12A distributor in a GSL-SE. Hurray for me.

Is installation any more complicated than getting the dist gear orientation right and connecting into the old coil connectors? Remember, I'm converting from points to electronic with new coils and new distributor and nothing else.

You have to get the gear right and get the timing set with a timing light. Hmmm, its not as easy as just using the same wires though, much of the ignition system needs to be rewired. I will try to find the writeup for you.
