12a bridgeport with weber 50DCO
Ok folks, what are some horsepower numbers for this setup with good flowing headers. 12a bridgeport with Weber 50DCO.
This is a rotor housing matched engine. racing beat template shaped. The exhuast ports are not as hogged as some people will do, but a streetable size. Every internal shape is well done by the book. All the nessessary parts for high rpm are included such as carbon seals, underdrive pulley, high pressure oil regulator, etc, etc.
I have heard 230hp-240hp is a realistic possible number and others say as high as 270hp, but I seriously doubt it can be that high without absolutely everything perfectly optimized?
Anyway rotary brothers, what do you think?

It's hard to give an exact number as hp figures can vary a lot from dyno to dyno but I'd think 200+hp at the wheels is pretty realistic. Needless to say it will be quick. BTW, what sort of exhaust are you running exactly?

I am still breaking-it-in yet. I don't want to ruin it till its got some miles on, LOL. I have the streetable header and the intake is of the sidedraft type found on a mazdatrix kit.

I recall one engine guru saying that particular manifold flows best in the midrange, but needs "extensive" portwork to flow good at the high end.

If it's a full J-Bridge, that cuts into the water seal, and you have 44mm chokes and no mufflers, it wil put out up to 260hp at the flywheel in addition to being loud enough to get you arrested very quickly. With the RB dual presilencers, a good straight thru rear muffler, 42mm chokes it'll put out around 230. If the bridges are smaller than J, think less hp.
How do you like that carb? I might get one myself for a similar engine. Can you tell us what jetting it has?Who built the motor?

I don't actually have the 50DCO installed yet, its in shipping. I am breaking it in on the Mikuni I had till then. 500miles later, it should be ready and the carb will be on then.
The carb is to have 46mm venturi's and approprate jets, etc, etc.
Ok, muffler, I'd say is very very hollowed out from backfire over the years, its a factory replacement one. I am going to compare power with it off and on and see how much it changes when all is ready. But on a street port or stock, it really didn't make any difference. Nope this is not a J-port, standard bridgeport but with rotor housings matched 1mm shy of the jacket....
Of course that can not be compared to a bridgeports need for no back pressure....
