Yeah, I dont' see a real advantage doing this if you are not running a full tube chassis. Just throw in fuel cell in the trunk. Your going to need the weight back there anyway.

and to answer your pondering question...The fuel cell is going up front because the fuel cell in the back the "STOCK" one is being taken out for a 1/4 chassis, with a suspension and a 9 inch...Also running the fuel cell up front will allow me to cut cost on SS braided lines, also going up front is the mechancial belt driven fuel pump from aeromotive that will use the guru motorsports brackets...

Guys there are plenty of countless drag car's here in the states as well as puerto rico that run there small little old fuel cells up front...conserve space...conserve SS braided lines...

Awesome project. Maybe I missed the boat but why not move the fuel cell to where the original tank was? A fast front end impact and you could be looking at a serious front end fire from fuel spilling on the exhaust.

You bolted in the engine cage, why not weld it? either way I think the position outside the bumper is better than inside the engine bay, however, aero dynamics would be hindered. Plus, the radiator is being impeded by the use of the cell in front. I think an aluminum grill would both benefit the structural integrity of the front end, and compensate the lack of turbulent air getting to the radiator. Either way, you've got a pretty solid build and it is a definite addition to the already monster RX7.

Massive Confusion here lol...the gold pictured above is Mannyvidal's 10 sec drag car my car is the red SA...we had asked if this was how he wanted the radiator set up...he said yes...we asked if he wanted the fuel cell this way...he said yes...we also asked if he wanted the cage bolted or welded into the car...he said he wanted it bolted to the car so he can pull it out and put it in when need be...

On my car i du plan on doing some ducting with sheet of aluminum so on and so forth for better flow and movement of air to cool the car and the radiator...

On my car im doing the same thing but with a much smaller radiator like a 92-95 honda civic hatch back...that will be bolted on the passanger side...and the driver side or where the the batter used to be I will be placing a 3 gallon fuel cell...I no longer want to use my 5 gallon fuel cell due to it's size...

Thanks for the motivation! I did want to comment on the BBQ thing..... I hate you warm-state-rotorheads. Its about 9 here or so, I heard Fargo ND was -30 not including windshield.

What mil aluminum do you plan/do you use? We only have some really thin crud at the shop right now, not sure if it will hold its own, im trying to re fab some underbody sheet metal pieces and make a vented cover for my holley.

Oh and mannys pictures still have parts blanked out? Gonna have to look for that tread again and bitch. lol

Teddy, I think the reason people are asking these questions is because they didn't know that this is going to be a full drag car and not an everyday driver. At least I didn't until now.
