Have you checked the T-bar yet? My '85 was topping out at a whopping 85 or so MPH - very sad!

Checked everything related to brakes, alignment, etc. since the car seemed to run fine.

Shortly after losing my driver's license, I realized to check the T-bar. It's part of the return linkage. If the T-bar is off of the big cam-looking thing that the main return spring attaches to, you won't get more than about 1/2 opening of the primaries and the secondaries won't open at all.

The T-bar was off on my car. I put it back on the cam and took it for a very quick test drive up and down my side street. BIIIIIIG difference.

nice specs, but if you`re running a ford engine, it`s got pistons... so I shun it anyway :P no matter what the power

well ... i was never one for putting too much weight on 1/4 miles performance, but i must agree that something is wrong ...

the only things that i can think of are maybe an exhaust leak or maybe the clutch is slipping a little (and you might not yet be able to notice it) ... but also check what peejay said about the "t-bar"-thing on the carb. i never heard it called that before, but i'm saying that maybe your secondaries aren't opening.

let us know what happens ...
