1/4 mile time.......
i estimated that my car will have 170hp after adding a rb exhaust. 135 stock + 5 hp (est.) for intake + 20% increase from exhaust = 170 hp. Does this number seem reasonable? i used this number in a calculator on www.rx7.com and it said with that amount of hp i would be running 14.5s in the 1/4 mile. Would this estimate be relatively close? does any one know what the 0-60 times might be with these mods? thanks.

My guess is that 170 is optimistic. It depends on the overall condition of your engine, but with stock porting and a free flowing exhaust, I'd guess you'll be around 145 or 150 flywheel HP.

I'm just under 170 RWHP with ALOT of engine, intake and exhaust mods on a high compression engine.
I've seen before that driveline losses are about 20% on these cars, so the 145 hp GSL-SE is probably at about 115-120 at the wheels, so about 15.5 quarter mile time.

He did run a car at 14.9 (different car, same setup) with a slipping clutch, at I think 2400lb plus driver.

peejay is correct, in my 84 GSL-SE with single RB exhaust, cone filter, working 6 ports, cold air intake, MSD direct fire, Secondary Throttle plates removed, 100k+ on motor and a slightly slipping clutch ran a 14.942 @ 92.61MPH running out 3rd gear on Nitto 555R drag Radials. at about 2440lbs no driver.
A fellow racer in his ITA 85 GSL-SE with stock motor and all the bolt ons, stripped interior and cage ran a 14.5 ish
a pic of both of us racing is here --> http://rx-7.org/events/images/Norwalk2000_final.jpg
