In 2004, there were tons of rebuilders. Atkins even had an exchange service. You could pull out your dead engine, stuff the Atkins rebuild in , and have the project done in a day, and ship your core to Atkins for a generous rebate. You didn't have to send your engine out and wait to have it rebuilt.
Now I can find a few rebuilders that can't guarantee that they have the rotors or the housings, if your bad engine needs them replaced. And Granny's (v-8 conversions) looks like they shut down.
Currently my engine will make this awful power steering going bad screech on start up like it did a year before the apex seal went. Why don't I just crush the 38 year old daily beater because the frame is rotted through? Well the frame is intact because I did under carriage undercoat maintenance every year.

I have two '83-85 rotors with good apex seal slots, and two SA rotor housings with moderate but not excessive flaking, I'd be willing to sell them for $3000.

Jesse Prather at https://jesseprathermotorsports.com/ does rebuilds. He did the rebuild on mine. You have to ship/deliver all your parts to him. I don't think he stocks parts in general. He is well known in SCCA and other racing circles.
He is in Topeka Kansas. Super nice guy.

I don't know what I'll do when the time comes to replace/rebuild the engine.. looks like buying an engine will cost around 5-6k and rebuilding may not be a good option due to the wear on the 12a parts. Maybe electric will be a decent option by then or mx-30 transplant (haha).
