Cleaning Cloth Seats

Picked up a pair of 84 FB cloth grey seats.

Any suggestions or recommendations on cleaning and cleaning solutions before I install?

I don't want to degrade or damage them.

My advice to you is to first got to your local dollar store (or whatever else) and pick up some cans of foaming carpet cleaner and some brushes. After a good scrub Vacuum the stuff out and let it dry in the sun. My car sat for sixteen years didn't smell good and had some very minor surface stains. After about 35 minutes for both cloth seats they looked almost new. As mentioned do the carpet while you're there.
