"I'd be the happiest woman in Iowa if Banzai gave me 1/2 as much attention as he does the old car", Banzai's wife. It is from a Disney movie about the american morgan horse.
So the internet lied to me and brake booster spacers are NLA.
I drew one in CAD and sent it to SendCutSend and got one laser cut out of 1/2" aluminum for just under $30. Drawings and pictures are in this thread.
Spent the weekend bleeding brakes only in the morning because it gets hot and disgusting after 10am.
Having replaced the master and all 4 calipers I knew bleeding would be a pain, but I'm seeing no bubbles and still have a soft pedal.
I think I'll need to unbolt the calipers and move them around to get any possible air bubbles out and towards the top.
I replaced my drive belts for my Alternator, Air Pump, and AC compressor. Used Gates from Amazon. They seem nice. Alternator was delaminated, pretty ripped up, others were getting tired.
Yesterday I finally fixed my "triangular" heater core lines. The PO apparently used some pliers once upon a time to loosen the hoses and crushed the brass barbs in the process. A few progressively larger sockets did the trick thankfully. Wish I had taken a before photo because they were really quite something, but attached below is one of the hoses for a little context on their prior condition.
Now those darn hoses should finally stop leaking, and I'm also rid of that hideous red heater hose to be replaced by a factory one. Lots of other work has been going on as well but I'll put the rest in my build thread at some point here.
Inline with the "law of unintended consequences" when I had my Mtheory rack and pinion kit installed last August I encountered an issue. I installed a set of Racing Beat stainless steel oil cooler lines when I had to replace my oil cooler back in 1996. The larger line and the adapter and 90-degree fitting on the rear iron brought the hose uncomfortably close to the steering linkage. I found a temporary fix and promised myself I would fix it right when I had the opportunity, as luck would have it I was able to get some "off-the-book" time on a lift. I found a 90-degree adapter with 18mm male threads and an AN10 female fitting and had a new line made. While I was swapping-out the lines and it was on the lift I also to the opportunity to replace my OEM driveshaft with an aftermarket driveshaft from Mazdatrix that has "replaceable" u-joints. The new oil line solved my clearance issues and I got two more "to-do" items off the RX7 list, two more to go, and I'm officially done.

Temporary Fix Permanent Fix New Driveshaft
Where did you get the line made ? i have had a tough time finding a place here in so cal.
I had the same issue as Seniorchief's with the MTheory rack. My solution is way more shadetree, I added another 90 elbow with a small extension.
I didn't want to waste time making a new hose since later this year I'm going to be making new ones for a CSF oil cooler anyway.
It's probably hurting flow, but not according to the (stock) oil pressure gauge.
I'd be more worried about the fittings loosening from vibration twisting the fittings. I know, can you fit a banjo fitting there?
Did today.
First time I drove it this year. I have an R53 taking up a large portion of my garage space (oddly enough for a "Mini") and the RX-7 turned into a shelf shoved up against the wall... but I was able to squeeze and make enough room for teh R in the garage so I can drive my Mazda this weekend.
Oil and filter change adventure. Initially, I bought the 102 mobil oil filter, checked it against what was installed, found out it is a 104 mobile oil filter, so returned it, bought the 104 mobil oil filter, stabbed the old filter, drained the oil, tried to install the new filter. it wouldn't go on, made a 1 hour round trip bus ride because some CLOWN. put a 102 filter in the 104 box at the store........then recycled the old oil. the mechanic asked me what kind of car was that, like it was an old exotic Italian sports car. "Does it have the rotary?", he asked......like it was some exotic British sports car.
I figure things could have gone worse, like I get a ticket. or car accident.
Finally finished replacing my clutch and everything that goes with it! I refurbished the heat shields, all new exhaust hangers, new custom driveshaft, front and rear transmission seals, rear main seal and replaced every nut and bolt, that I could with SS.
this was easily the largest, most involved project since I bought this thing. I’m super happy with the results and look forward to long road trips.
other than replacing the front struts, virtually everything has been replaced.
Son of a brick. Thought I was done brake bleeding, took it for a drive (pedal is still softer than I'd like), and found brake fluid seeping from the connection to the prop valve. Cleaned and re-tightened this one at least 3 times now.
At least it's the front line, so making another is not too difficult and bleeding that portion will be fast.
