Is it just me or is the newest Miata turning into a first gen. Rx-7? I like it a lot.

Yeah, but the targa top is motorized... I just don't see why it has to be motorized.

I was thinking the motorized top would add considerable weight but I really don't know. I would like to own one but there would be mods early on to improve the power.

i agree looks kinda like an updated 1st gen, would b cool if it was rotary powered.

It's an FB in everything but name, all the genes are there.

Check out the eyes, they ooze that no-headlight look of the classic FB front end. Sleepy, until they pop up.

And the silhouette, you could superimpose an FB on there no problem.

They even have the antenna in the right spot.

I'm in, I want one.

I think they would need to rethink the size of that RX-9 including the wheels. Maybe a re-skinned Miata and get rid of those big RX-9 wheels to cut weight.

the ND Miata is quite a good car. its specs are very modest, but its actually quite fast on the track, way faster than the NC miata.

its 2300lbs, which is about the same as an Rx7. it puts 130+ hp down to the ground, so its got more power than the Rx7 did
