No rust down here in GA Dave!

Is this persimmon red?

Sure is pretty whatever it is. The car belongs to a GA local, says he might bring it over for our next OGTA meeting. It would be nice to see in person!

Agreed, if I had the time and money I would love to get a Arizona FB and bring it back here, even if just the shell to start with, would be so much nicer doing body work on a car that isn't covered in rust....
BTW did you get my pm about those wheels?

No problem, I wasn't sure if you were interested in buying them and wanted to make sure you got the link before the auction was over....

Too funny !

Hey Crazy....THAT is the one I just bought ! I can't wait to see her in person ! Only issues so far are the dents on the pass side hood / dent on driver-side headlight / no GLASS moonroof / and the cracked lower front valance

The good (or should I say great/intriguing?) is that I was informed today rear and side louvers the same color are included (although they are plastic and not the aluminum I used to have on my '85) I think they may look really nice....especially if I will still be able to source those Mariah kits

Hi all:

Hope I am not getting too OT here ...

Persimmon is actually a fruit from a tree usually found in Asian countries. They are usually light yellow-orange or dark red-orange in color.

82Transam: I may be mistaking since it has been 15 years or so since my '85, but I will pretty much SWEAR my interior was black. The reason I believe this to be true is my girlfriend had long blonde hair and I can remember seeing it all over the seats whenever she was in it, AND I had custom speakers enclosure that were black leather on the doors and black carpet in the rear to match the interior (still have the woofer enclosure actually! LOL)

crosen91 - Yeah that hunk of metal caught my eye as well as the Auburn plate on the rear. Their removal will be the FIRST "mods" I perform once it arrives to me here in Florida.

Mazdaverx - DAS (Dependable Auto Shippers) charged me just over $654 to ship it from El Monte, CA to Naples, FL. Don't get discouraged with the shipping. Instead of door to door - ask for a quote for terminal to terminal service - saved me almost $350. What was even better is that I thought I would have to drive to Miami, but there is a terminal 45 minutes north of me in Ft Myers ! Additionally, whatever the quote is online with DAS, ask for a discount. The ebay seller I bought the persimmon from suggested it, and said they will give a discount 90% of the time...and they did for me !

Is there any possibility that someone had redone it? According to all the stuff I've read and seen there is no black interior in 84/85. I know some people on here have taken their interiors and dyed them, but there wasn't one offered from the factory.

Yep. No black in '85. Only colors in '85 were grey, maroon, and brown.

So either:
1. not really an '85 (like '83 or earlier)
2. someone dyed the '85 interior
3. someone swapped the black interior from an earlier 7
4. car a non-North American model.. UK, Australlia, etc. kept the early dash style for the 84/85. It is not likely that this is the case, unless you lived outside the US/Canada at that time
5. your memory is just foggy and the interior was actually grey
