still in the process of my 12at...plus a complete ground up rust and repair job...but I'm really losing steam and find myself without patience anymore after 4 1/2 years if someone came and said I'll take it off you I might be relentful but if wouldn't take much to pursuade me...especially since now that I'm a univ student and just don't have the $$...

If you use the the 12a water pump housing, there will be no machining required on the front cover. The 12a housing is made to clear the SE front cover ( SE covers are the same as 12a covers). Also, there is anftermarket aluminum water pump that fits all '74 to '85 12a and 13b engines.

Since hes running a S5 engine, hes probably reffering to machining the SE cover to accept the S5 OMP.
I did this on my car to retain the factory ECU,which needs to see the electronic OMP working. Not too hard to adapt, and it fits up great like it belongs that way.

Well, i am a Turbo FB owner, and have been for some time now.. Mine is ALL ORIGINAL though and has no modifications so far. The enthusiast in me says: save it, and restore it to its original state, while the other half of my head says, more boost, bigger turbo, intercooler etc..

Well, at least i have one, and the best of it all? It only cost 4K with 60K miles, and a near perfect interior!

arkay turbo draw through setup

I run the old school arkay turbo draw through setup.
It came as a kit back in the early 80s and was installed in my car in 1983.

Anybody else run a draw through setup? I'm running the debate of switching to blowthrough, but since I can't keep my car with me I havn't pursued the issue.

Does anybody have experience with the arkay / rayjay turbos?

Daily driver - 1999 protege
Pride and Joy - toy - 1981 turbo fb with 30k original miles.
Even though I cannot keep the fb where I live, I will not ever give it up. It is in storage until I move from the city with 2 other 7s to keep her company.

1stgenbilyb I owned the same kit for a few years. I think I even have the original instrustions still. I also rebuilt the rajay rotomaster turbo. Its a nice old school kit but cant compete with fuel injection.
Now I have a 1982 first gem (same car). I rebuilt a S4 13B 6 port and added a alluminum flywheel and RB clutch disk and pressure plate. I street ported the engine and clearanced the rotors. I doweled the engine as well. Im running megasquirt and lots of manual autometer guages. Its still in the works just got it running on megasquirt last night have lots of tuning before a test drive.
