Best upgrades for a stock RX7 with 12A

I am looking at what are some of the best for your money upgrades for my RX7. I currently have a Pan Hard bar from T3. I have a stock 12A, with a Holley 4160 on it currently. I have also upgraded from 13 inch wheels to 15. Is there anything else needed to have a fun car? I would eventually like to use this car for auto-crosses.

Thanks for your time

Ditch the holley, it won't do well on tight cornering as you will see at autox. The best mods without opening the motor are:

1. Exhaust - RacingBeat Streetport full dual exhaust - best investment ever - will last the life of the car practically
2. Better ignition - DFIS highly recommended
3. Remove rats nest and attendant devices, plug it all up
4. Modify the stock intake and nikki or get a weber IDA 48 setup
5. Electric fan
6. Lighter flywheel
7. Adjustable camber
8. Lower about an inch
9. Bigger front sway bar
10. For autox keep the rear swaybar, for HPDE you may want to keep it.

This is all off the top o my head right now. These will get that 12A putting out about 60% more HP than stock.

I have been reading through your past threads. TFIDFIS looks extremely useful. Do you have a current wiring diagram of this set up? I am about to look into your Fat Nikki set up.

I also forgot to mention. I have 2 MSD 6A boxes. I think they are wired correctly. They where wired by the past owner. I went through it. Based on the diagrams I found for them, they seem correct.

What do you recommend? I see RB sells two different ones. I know people that Holleys. In my past projects I have ran a Holley Red.

Your fuel pump has to match the carb or EFI requirements. For carb, usually a low pressure (4 psi) and high flow (45gph) would work as long as you also put in a regulator that you can dialin to what the carb wants. Every carb is different. I won't try to give advice on EFI, as its not something I mess with much.

2nd the RB exhaust - best investment on stock or modded engine, IMO.

My favorite mod to my FB was the RB front swaybar. I think its the best bang for the buck period on a stock FB.

I cannot comment too much on what mods made the most difference, but the one thing I did myself on my FB was remove the fan and put on an electronic one, what a difference. granted the clutch on my fan was broken so it would spin 100% of the time, it sucked some serious power

I had a blast on tight courses with my mostly stock 84 GS with: RB 2-1 header, RB front sway bar, Tokico Blues and ST springs. Those mods were enough to cheaply make a difference in how fun the car was.
