Wolf V500??

i bought the latest Zoom magazine and there is an Ad in it with a Wolf V500. Not v400. It a new ad with new features. Says it has 15-23 auxillary channels. and 8 ignition outputs.

The website only has a v400? Anyone know what this v500 is?

Well its definetly a whole new add. I wish i could scan it.
It even shows the dash with a sticker on it saying "Wolf Dash v500".

Surely they didn't put an add in with the number totally incorrect?

I also got a HPI magazine and in a gizzmo section under 'diagnostic' it shows what is ment to be a wolf 'wideband afr'. Yet its something i've never seen before. There is no 'wolf' stamped on the unit but its kinda like the dash with a digital tacho and some rich lean lights up top.

Well i just got an email from Wolf with all the details on the new v500. Even the software is different again! Looks better i must say. Why did they come out with the v400? Its only been around for a few months.

I wonder if they'll do an upgrade like they did with the v3 to v4?

I don't really see any real benefit to upgrading if youre running a rotary with v4. its not such a huge step like v3 to v4 was

^^^ I agree. plus, I wuold rather have a system that allows me better control plug n play and I know what i am setting and the unit supports all necessary 'stock' requirements.

for me: OMP, Knock, Idle control are main issues. mainly knock.

the rest are nice

we'll see if a good plug n play deal is offered...... and if the plug n play is actually same featuresas a wire in.

more info is needed.

also....about knock sensors..here something taken out of the wolf v500 help.

"The Wolf V500 does not have Knock Sensor capability. It is highly recommended that you tune your Wolf V500 on a dyno and check ignition advance using a separate Knock Sensor device, and the dyno operators experience. "

But if you use a auxillary input and the trim function in the timing map. You can use a knock sensor that puts out a variable signal depending on the amount of knock, not only only can you retard timing you can have it mapable over the voltage range. This is in the V4 and the V500 looks more flexible.
